Post a pic so i can see how it fits when you doSo the cover arrived and Hubby is pleased at how much of the splitter is covered...it, however, is STILL in the garage! LOL
The man has his stubborn honed to a fine edge!
One nice thing is that he's agreed to "schedule a few weeks" that we'll do nothing but split wood and he'll leave it out
for those weeks so I can use it if he's not around. So I guess that's better than nothing.
Thanks for all the replies!
That’s the problem with imagining... it can lead you awry. Mine has been sitting outside five years, and no rodent has chewed on any part of it. Dozens of users on this forum also leave theirs outside, with similar lack of issues, and likely dozens or hundreds more in rodent-accessible log sheds and barns. Your imagination doesn’t supersede real experience.I can't imagine leaving my splitter outside 24/7. The rodents would be chewing on every soft part they could find.

Au contraire my clueless Philadelphia friend.
My outside vehicle and neighbors have both experieced EXTENSIVE rodent induced electrical and mechannical damage. They even chewed up my dog's underground electrical fence.
I don't think the rodents know much difference between the soft parts of a car or a log splitter
