Locust- Honey or black?

Had a new guy deliver a cord of wood to our hunting camp this year. It was alI locust (black I think). I was a little peeved as it looked like it had just been cut this year. Fresh yellow-green and fragrant when split. It burned like crazy! No smoke, no sizzle, just so much roaring flame and heat everyone in camp just kept backing up.

I burn a lot of it at home but I didn't realize how well it would burn when green.

Black locust. Probably about the best stuff you can get ahold of for firewood. I cut and burn a lot of it. Nice score, those cold days you will be happy you have it.

Honey locust is great burning wood that takes ages to season and always seems to end up full of powderpost beetle. But if you get it seasoned and don't mind the bugs, burns better than white oak in my experience.
