I cut an oak with my new Jonsered c2255 today. The thing was awesome! Very little vibration transfers to the arms, has a lot of power, starts super easy. This is my first saw. I was cutting with my neighboor's Crapsman 40cc that killed my arm with vibration and took five times longer to cut. I have cut with an older Husky 51 (nice saw too) and a newer Husky 250 series which was good too. But, the Jonsered C2255 was by far the best saw I've ever cut with. It was to be expected because it's the biggest saw I've ever cut with. I know there are better saws out there, but the dealer had it on sale and I jumped on it. So, I just wanted to share, how happy I am, to start working on the twelve cords I want to have cut and split by the end of the winter.

Congratulations on a fine saw... you should see years of good service. Keep her sharp!

"Thanks Beowulf, your advice from a previous post was considered during the purchase. The dealer said he repairs the Husky with the same parts. This is basicaly the same as the 455, right? Does yours have the decompression button? Mine came with the 18" bar. Sears had the 455 Rancher for $10 more with the 20" bar. Do you think they pull the 20" bar with the same intensity as an 18?"

What is a Jonsered c2255? I did a Google search and didn't find anything.

Yo, I almost bought a CS2156 over my MS361 (mostly because I wanted something different, and JReds are pretty).

Big price difference between the 2156 and 2255 (~$650 vs $409)--probably because the 2156 is 1/2 pound lighter and more powerful. Pro vs. homeowner?

Love the black & red.

Congrats on the new saw. FWIW I have the 455 with a 20" bar & it cuts well, but I do get some bogging when it's fully buried in hardwood. If I bought new I'd choose the 18" bar on tha saw.

WTF? That sounds like teenage girls who text eachother to make sure they're not wearing the same outfit.

C'mon Redd, don't you like owning, doing, knowing, etc. unique stuff?! It's the reason I bought an Audi when everyone else was buying Beeemers and the reason I'll buy a Audemars Piguet over a Rolex (now--I liked my Sea-Dweller, but it's becoming too popular again).

By the way, I'm a freshman English teacher so I know all about them texts you speak of!!!

LMFAO............. thanks redd i needed a laugh

I was thinking at 4409 he better throw in more than a case of oil, like maybe a splitter and a 20 cords of wood! :cheese:
Congrats on the new saw, new stuff is always fun.

"Thanks Think, it is a nice looking saw. I wish I had the dough to get one of the pro models!! But I had a hard time explainig it to the BOSS as it was. :red: No, she was pretty cool about it, considering I'm laid off and the $ is tight. I guess the money we are saving with wood heating yielded another reward!"

"Thanks man, I'll keep that in mind. FWIW, i also got a slight bog when the 18" bar was burried in a 24" oak tree!"

VCBurner, what are you using for chain? Oh, and that was a compliment--I was just trying to figure out why there's such a price difference between them; JRed doesn't really distinguish between 'homeowner,' 'landowner,' and 'pro' like Husky.

"Thanks. I didn't know that much about them, so I didn't request any specific chain. The only thing I made sure was, that it didn't have a safety chain. I'm curios NOW, though. I'll have to ask the dealer tomorrow."

"I was able to find the two models in two different sites where they talk about the part time pro/forrest owner 2255 and the professional logger grade 2156. Pretty confusing, they just don't categorize like the Huskies. One thing is for sure, the 2255 is the same saw as the 455 rancher which is part of the landowner series.
