we decided that trees beside the home are overrated. Mature fir trees look great in the distance or in your stove but not when winds are blowing at 60-80 mph
We've got big trees to the south and west, which keeps the sun from beating on the roof in the summer, and keeps the house cooler. I finally broke down and got a window AC a couple years ago to knock the humidity down inside. That way, 80 isn't bad at all in here. There's a Shingle Oak to the west, and a couple big Pignuts to the south, that could hit the house. I'm not worried about those too much since the woods beyond break the high winds to some degree. The trees get to swayin' when the 60 mph winds blow through, though. I've got a dead Red Oak and White Ash that have got to go this spring, as they are within striking distance.
I like that weather station.
Is that a good one, or a begreen bargain like his Chinese phone? ;)

Look it up.

Hey, how did you know my phone's Korean?? Maybe because it's short, fat and has a funny haircut. ;)
I'm only half joking; I need to check those out. I'm way too much of a weather nerd to not have one. I don't know what's taking me so long...

nope, not over yet here, 21F and 6" of fresh snow this morning, love springtime in the adirondacks

Daytime Temps in the 60's, nighttime temps in the 40's. Also to make sure I time it so I'm not have to move wood back off my porch.....

All phones spy on you and send info back to the mothership, be it Google, Apple, Facebook, etc..

Sorry, what Chinese phone are we talking about here? IPhone? I didn’t read all...

I agree with you though, all phones spy.

I would have to respectfully disagree that these evils you listed are “Mothership” worthy. More like Imperial Destroyers, say ...

[According to Wookeepedia] Facebook and the like would be Eclipse Class Super Star Destroyers. The biggest Star Destroyers made. Flagship level, yes, but not Mothership or Deathstar level. DARPA was involved in Facebook and Google after all, so mothership would be NSA or CIA or Echelon or something we’ve never heard about.

Yeah, but their mothership is the source, and they will have some questions to answer before being allowed back on board. ==c
Lows in the 20s this coming week, and after highbeam said he was sending 70s our way....
Same here, around 30 the next couple nights, with 60s/40s on the way. Gotta get my deep woods work done before the undergrowth comes in, otherwise I will be groping my way around like a blind men, trying to pick my way through the brush with the quad and trailer and being dead-ended by big down logs, little ravines and what-not.

Yes indeed there are. The request to remove the annoying tapatalk signature ad was real.

I'll be burning firewood for domestic hot water until middle of June. I might have to light a fire once a week. Once the humidity starts to pick up I'll switch over to my heat pump hot water heater to keep my basement cool and dry. Hopefully I have enough firewood to make it until June. It's looking close.

Teens this morning. High in the 30s today. The sun high in the sky is nice during the day but I'm still having fires to take the edge off.

Oh well, a slow melt is the best melt...

Here in central Minnesota we've been having 40-50s during the day, but it's still low 20s at night. My insert is brand new, and I'm getting lots of practice lighting it from basically cold starts in the morning and evening. I'll probably be burning like that for another month and as needed for a couple more weeks after that.

42º this am and the gentle giant has awoken.

Same, we had a nice break and will have more breaks but the heating season is far from over. Slowly transitioning from wood burning duties to lawn mowing duties.
