It was 79º yesterday and today officially. A friend in Ballard had 81º on her thermometer yesterday. No fires for us yesterday or today. It was seventy degrees in Seattle yesterday and again today.
It was cool overnight. This morning I started a small fire to take the chill off and heat water to wash the dishes.
Yes, shattered the previous high by 16º! We're sending it your way now. It'll start cooling down here in the next few days.80! It's still 40-50 by day and 20-30 by night on the other coast.
I mean the season... Will I burn wood again this year? Today it was over 70, and my car said 77! That first question was more for effect.
The real question is at what temperature does one stop lighting a fire? I’m sure we will see cold days again, and for sure cold nights, but the forecast is looking like it’s barely dipping below freezing temps at night and not for long.

I will light a fire (to take the chill off) if it is 50 degrees outside or less (and depending on trending weather conditions) . Anything above 50 degrees I really have no interest in a fire.
Utilize clean energy from the sun instead...open your windows.Time to light up. We can skip days every so often but when your house is insulated sometimes the insulation keeps the heat out and your house too cool.
So next time I get up there, your house will be the one with the silver rocket on the roof?As in not anymore? I am a few houses west of the motel, 3 minute walk.

I was surprised the interior was so cold at the end of that day. Is the house heavily shaded? Our house temp matched outside temp. We still had the windows open. With 72º outside maybe use a fan to move some outside air inside? Not when I’m away from home. Since the sun was setting, temperatures were going down.
So you aren't always cursing your plethora of windows, then...Our house temp matched outside temp.
Oh no, just in winter when it's very cold. Otherwise they are nice and bring a lot of light into the house. So you aren't always cursing your plethora of windows, then...
