More costly, but ultimately probably the better setup. It's like putting a V8 in a Miata.
I think we could make an argument to go either way. I like the size and weight of the I-beam and axle/tank assembly on my machine, but the tongue and kickstand assembly are too wimpy for my liking. I like the tongue and kickstand on that newer unit I just posted above, I’m not sure if that carries down to their newer 4” (22-25 ton) model, I didn’t look.
I would not want a heavier I-beam, mine is just heavy enough for me to move around my lumpy splitting area as it is, but since many manufacturers share a lot of the frame components between all of their 22 - 28 ton models, I’d think a model could be found which combines the best of each of these.
