An guy gave me a 445 that he did not want to mess with so he went and bought a new saw. It runs great but leaks oil far more than any normal little oil leak I have seen in other saws. Is this common for this saw? Where should I start looking to fix the issue?

Clean it up then follow the oil.
It's probably from the oil pump or oil line,or maybe a cracked tank

A lot of huskys have an oil tube in the bottom of the tank that dry rots and looses it's seal. Pretty easy replacement. I have done it to a few. Takes about an hour.

Well known issue on these saws. My 55cc rancher does it. Never got around to fixing it, I just try to coordinate the end of my cutting sessions with an empty oil tank. The oil stain on my garage floor shows how well my technique works.
