The stove pipe sections are assembled correctly. The stickers are pointing "up" 
I can't remember which section slid into the other, but I believe the top sections slid into the bottom sections to allow the creosote to flow back towards the stove. It's double-wall pipe, so it's a little hard to tell which was sliding into the other.
