Sounds good in theory but my garage is only so big and the wife likes to keep her car in half of it.

Another 12+ forecasted for Saturday-Sunday. going to try to dig out that driveway wood before that hits.
I stack under the deck on the back porch, a 6' W x 12' L x 6' H, and that gets me through the winter.
Works for me, and doesn't come close to taking up the space of a garage bay.
Do what works for you. My setup works great for me.

Wow, u guys have it rough. The only thing I have to worry about when getting wood is where my boys are at so they can help lol

Build a woodshed out there.

I still have to deal with clearing a path through the snow, but I'd have to clear that path anyway, at least the wood stays nice and dry in the shed.

And I thought I was toughing it out when it's 19F and I need to scurry out to the covered front porch in my boxers to get a bundle of wood.

Winters like this one are why I love my woodshed.

I should post a pic of my back yard. The snow, combined with all the snow that has come off the back roof, has made it so that the back porch steps are buried . . . I now have a slight incline of packed down snow leading from my back porch to the woodshed.

Just stacked about two cords under my deck today. Could fit about two more. Thinking about putting corregated roofing under the deck and doing away with the tarp

2 cords should get you through.
I put a canvas tarp on top of the deck boards above. Keep 90% of the water out, a few runs & drips here and there, but not enough to effect the wood burning.

I dove in yesterday to get the rest of the winter's supply out before the storm. Sure feels good to have that wood in the basement now.

This was the best I could do this year. I'll have a better set-up for next season.
