I always wondered if Sherwood hired some PE engineers and designers for the Enviro stove line. They have so much in common.

Hey BG, always good to hear your wisdom on here. Yep, I too believe PE and Enviro were designed/built/tinkered with together at times.
Both fabulous stoves. You stay warm, and stay safe.

Thanks and likewise. The T6 is keeping us warm in this chilly late winter weather.

BG- Ha, very wet/chilly still here in SE CT, in March you never know what is coming in. Stay warm, and keep helping folks here.

Hey everyone- the blowers are set up diff between the Boston and the Kodiak. For the Kodiak, take the surround off, pull out the left side a bit, find the two t20 screws that hold the blower pod on, just loosen (they have holes for accessing them) and remove the pod. I've found the blowers to be quite good to stay clean being mounted vertically. The boston needs the top plate (3/8 inch wrench needed to loosen the bolts), take that plate off, then the door and then the side panels are accessible. I only tighten down the front bolts on the sides and one bolt on the top plate. Boston owners will see what I mean. Its not easy, but it hides everything. The Venice and Kodiak also have one top bolt on the pod to remove to take their blowers off. Hope this helps.
I'm having issues with my Enviro Kodiak. I would like to clean or likely replace the blower, but I'm struggling with removing the left shroud that houses the blower fan. I have the surround off. I see where Stovelark says that there are holes for accessing the two t20 screws, but I don't see any holes for accessing the screws. I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks

I figured it out. I had to pull the fireplace insert out about an inch to gain access to the holes that provide access to the two h20 screws. Once I loosened those up, the shroud and with the attached fan slid out easily. Right away I could see why the airflow was so minimal. The fans were filled with debris. Also, one of the nuts for the screws that hold the fan assembly to the shroud had backed out and dropped into the fan. That was responsible for all the racket every time it was turned on. It was still rather noisy even after a good cleaning. I noticed that the axle that rotates the fans had some rust, so I put a few drops of WD40 on it, and it quieted down, although I'm not sure how long that will last. I hope I don't have to replace it anytime soon as ones I've found online are rather expensive.

Thanks for the update. Looks like it was long overdue for a cleaning. Good for you in persisting.

Nice work sorting it out. I was too slow to tell you that it needs to get pulled out a bit to access them. ( I used to have the same insert ). Use a different lube. In fact wd40 is not lube but rather a “ water displacement “ or a cleaner. I’d add a few drops of something simple or all purpose like a 3 in 1 or something like that. I recall my blower being pretty quiet and then increasing in noise a bit as it aged. But yeah they really do collect the fluff and stuff as the my cycle volumes of air.

Take care of that Kodiak stove , it’s a good unit. I thoroughly loved mine. Loved the ability to load north south and have a real sized 2.5 cu ft firebox .

I'll try some oil on the Dutchwest blower; it's noisy, too. As I was browsing other blowers for it recently, found out that there are two oil holes on it.
If that doesn't help enough, I might try some of that vibration deadener that they use on car stereo installations. Just on the bell section, not on the motor when it could affect cooling.
If it's still too loud, I might try rigging a computer fan to some kind of plenum, to keep it away from the stove heat..

Hey sorry BG, was down on long island last couple of days helping my brother install a 602 in his fireplace. Glad this gentleman found those screws, they're recesses torx. Make sure you put it back together just right, some units if misaligned, the snapdisc for the blower will not meet up with stove body, and will turn fan on. Stay warm all.

I am replacing the door gasket on my Enviro Boston 1700 for the first time. I believe I found in the manual that the gasket part # is EF-168. I found this part at the below link, which labels it a 1” gasket.

That is roughly the size of the gasket in it’s smushed state. See below pic.

However, I found another thread where it was stated that the size of the gasket is actually the size of the groove. The size of the groove looks to me to be about 9/16”.

All of this to say, does anyone know what size the appropriate size is for this stove? I just want to make sure I don’t buy and install the wrong part.

Here is a link to the manual. The part numbers are listed on page 31. Thanks for the help.

The gasket extends out of the channel. Use the OEM gasket for replacement.
