Our property was logged by a bandit just before we bought it. Took the best oak and some maple. Left LOTS of cull logs and tops. Ten years before I had to cut a live tree for firewood. Took a few years to figure out how to get it dry like the old stuff. The white birch cut last fall (dead 13 months) still has purple mold on the ends in the woodshed....
