Hi everyone,
I have a Drolet HT3000 wood stove, second year with it. So far so good. Would anyone have the same type stove with the factory blower AC 02050 installed? I am considering purchasing the blower. I would like to know if it moves the heat well enough or am I just as well off to have a free standing fan moving the heat.
Thank you, any input is appreciated. Also, would it be worth it to purchase the Quick Connect Thermodisc, to control the on /off blower as per the the stove temperature?

Thanks.

Mike

The blower definitely moves more heat because the air travels up across the hot stove back and then over the stove top. A drop in stove top temp when the blower is on will show this.

I don't have the ht3000, but the Myriad II. Similar size stove. I got mine with the blower and thermodisc. I find the blower too loud, so I don't use it. It does help get more warm air out into the room.
If you run the stove 24/7, I don't think you would need the thermodisc. It's only useful if you plan to leave and let the stove go cold. My 2 cents...

Is this also true at low speed? The AC 02050 blower for the HT-3000 has a speed control rheostat. It's not silent, but should be fairly quiet on lower speeds. I thought that the Myriad II had the same rheostat.

We only use the blower on our stove when it needs to be pushed harder for heat due to outdoor temps in the teens or low 20s. It helps get the heat out to the farther corners of the first floor. Medium speed suffices in that case. I only run it on high to cool the stove down in a hurry because I let it get too hot.

The blower speed is adjustable. Low isnt that loud. I just prefer the silent heat of a stove. I only would use it if we needed the extra heat.
