trivet! a must have with a pot of water on a stove.

Yep, that's another one that the wife mentioned previously.... man, her being right all the time is starting to get old.... :(
 
Looks like the handles on that cheap pot were soldered on.
 
We used to use a cast iron tea kettle, made for being on a stove. I got tired of guessing when it was empty, it never evaporated at same speed so we bought a 2 gallon humidifier that auto shuts off when empty. Every year we drag it out & set it up, summer it gets put in the garage.
 
Put a decent pot on the stove and you will be fine. The material doesn't matter much. We have an old enameled steel Dansk pot on the stove. Works fine, but this is on the trivet top of the T6. The main concern with non-trivet tops is boil-overs.
