Can anyone identify this stove?

I know its a Blaze King but I'm wondering whether it's a catalytic model. I have a call into them but haven't heard back yet. If it is a catalytic combustion model that would be a screamin deal. Thoughts? (broken link removed to http://rapidcity.craigslist.org/grd/2885368620.html)

99% sure that is a non cat. Could always ask the owner. If he doesnt know, maybe he can give you a model number.

That my friends is a KTJ302. The easiest way to know if the stove is catalytic (Blaze King) is there would be a hole in the top of the stove for a catalytic thermometer. Also, the old catalytic models that had a drop down door with two handles also had a mechanism to close the by pass automatically. It appears as a small round button in the upper right hand corner of the door opening. When the door was closed, the by pass was also closed...to a degree. You still needed to reach over and slide the handle on the right hand side of the stove to close the bypass completely.

Just for comparison purposes, the KT series of wood stoves were made from 1977-1983 and where great heaters. Unfortunately they did not burn as clean or as efficient as the newer models. Old KT's and PT's were probably more than 60 gr/hr and the new models are all well below 2.5. The Chinook 30 is actually 1.0 gr/hr.

If you are looking to get a good deal on an efficient and clean burning used Blaze King, look for models KEJ1101, KEJ1102, KEJ1107 (current model) and Princess models PEJ1002, PEJ1003 and PEJ1006 (again current model)
