We non Mainers or Down Easters surely don't know anything about anything.
I have 6 cords put up the majority of dead standing ash. The first load i cut back in late July measure 27% about a month ago. I don't know what it is now. Still have to burn it as i have no choice. I have prob 2 cords of good dry cherry, locust, maple and oak to burn. All was standing dead and measured ready to burn. Need to get 2 more cords yet to get through the winter. My Clayton eats wood like it's on sale!
I did ash the first 3 or 4 years here cause my supplier had it and it seasoned faster then oak/hickory, and he gave it cheap cause i would take it all and not complain it was ash. still needed 2 years to season to burn good. Faster then oak but not 1 season.
