First post here. Joined hoping someone can help me figure this out.

There's a metal sound associated with the blower kicking off an on. It sounds like it's on top of the fireplace/bottom of the chase.

In the video I have to open and close the door to turn the fan off and on. I've already removed the weighted damper in the blower box with no luck. We reached out to the installer who reached out to Travis and no one seems to know what it is.

It sounds like something is loose in the convection envelope. How old is the unit? Has it always done this?

Is the back of the fireplace accessible? This may require removing the blower input and output connections and inspection with a boroscope to see what is flapping.

Another video. The first noise is the door opening but you can clearly hear that metal flapper sound after the blower stops spinning

The sound makes me wonder if there is a backdraft damper on the blower.

That's good. It eliminates one possibility.
