i have used North American Pettets before new englands but they heated worse and ashier as heck. NEP are the best that my father has used in his 8 years of burning diff types of pellets in our area of upstate NY
I would try to locate some better pellets. NEWP have been just average or worse the last 3-4 years.

What other brands are available nearby?? Give us a list of what's available and prices and we can probably steer you to some that you can test burn and see if the heat improves. Not all pellets are made equal.

yep its just a strait pipe up about 15 ft from elbow to cap. and for changing it to 6-4-1 def increased temp with flames being lively and going to the top of the chamber, but still baffles me how some people here have this unit and on setting 4 they are roasting and mine fights to maintain temps. as for blower fan i had my thoughts on the speed when i couldn't hear and diff from 7-9. BTW what pellets do you burn? I would like to try diff brands if there's better, in my area NEP seems to be the best places carry and recommend.

I have only burned North American pellets and they sucked. my dad has burned NEWP for bout 8 years after trying other brands and finding they burnt best for him.

You need to call around to Lowes, HD, TSC, and local stove shops. Find out what they have and let us know. NEWP and North American are some the poorer brands around.
