Do you want blue or black?

Well, neither of these are blue. I'd almost call them two different shades of black, based on the photo I have seen. Hence the question.

Here's the new Midnight Blue Black, from the Nashville show (new Pewter color on left, Blue Black on right):


Personally, I'm leaning toward the black, but that's based on two photos that might night be doing justice to the difference.

The midnight blue looked very blue under bright lights. It's a nice finish for sure, but it will look blue if it's near black items or in good lighting.
I had an Oslo in Blue black and we loved it! The standard Ashford is matellic black, that same color is used on many different stoves.

Years ago I worked in a garage . This guy had a car with those deer whistle things lined up on his dash...like 4 of them.
I said to him I believe those have to be on your bumper to work.
He said well, I have never hit a deer since I put them up there.

Thanks for posting. It looks like a painted finish for sure. You can see the difference from the soft luster of a baked enamel stove.

I kinda like that pewter color, don't know that the wife would go for it. There was for 2014/15, dunno if it is still current, a plain cast black A30, no enamel on it. I really liked it, my wife didn't like it at all when we saw it in the showroom.

Well, the burning season is winding down here in Southern West Virginia. I've got to admit that in the past I've been glad to let the stove go cold but this year with the BK is different. Keeping our home warm has become much less of a chore and shoulder season fires are nothing more than a 24 hour reload schedule vs the old pain in the ass of building a separate morning an evening fire while closely monitoring the weather in an attempt to time the fires right.

Many people say they don't run the stove by the temps outside there home, rather by inside temps. I find it easier to predict what I'm going to need by what's going on outside. Right now the long range forecast is telling me it's time to change oil in the lawn mower.

We're do some rain and flurries tomorrow morning but it looks like most of the snow will be your way. You can have it, I'm done One more good snow wouldn't be a surprise but for the most part it's time to start thinking about the garden, grill, and a cooler of beer!

Sure, a small raised hearth is nice. If I was to build another one I would raise it 6-8".

I loaded up the king 24 hours ago, it is currently 35 outside and the stove room is 83 and still well into the active zone. All this on small (1.5 to 2 inch) cherry rounds. I promised the kids not to load her tonight as the entire house is in the mid 70's.

First, don't feel bad! The Sirocco 30 is one of our best selling units. Keep in mind, the family here at hearth.com is a tiny fraction of wood burning purists! They are here to help but be careful when they ask you to post pictures of your stove(s) with models!
