It is 37 degrees outside here now (Western Maryland) and pouring down rain, with strong winds. The low tonight is going to be around 34. My family room where the Hearthstone Clydesdale is is a balmy 79 degrees. My living room/kitchen floor above is 70 degrees, and my bedroom area is holding a steady 64 degrees. All this on one split reloads during the day. Thanks to some excellent advice and help from Rhonemas, I am really enjoying this insert!

You guys out east stole all my cold air. It's been kind of warm here. 50 yesterday and 50's today and Thursday. Didn't have a fire last night because house was still warm enough from the burn the night before. Furnace is set at 69 and has gone off a couple times this morning. It's 2pm right now and I'm firing her up. Next week the cold air returns, and I will be back to 24/7 burning.

Which do you burn this time of year? The fireplace or the stove?

I burn the stove. The fireplace rarley gets used. I'm still thinking about inserts or a hearth stove for it, but the basement stove heats the whole house so well I think it would be a waste of money.

35 outside tonight. The room with the stove is at a super comfy 83*. The next room over, the kitchen is at 69 and the master bedroom upstairs is at 68. I used some old duct work and an inline fan to move the heat to the bedroom.

The best part is: THE FURNACE IS OFF!!!!!!!!!!

Matt and a warm, happy camper!

LIttle late here, but this morning it was 26* here, and the house was a nice 72* with just a small fire going in the Vista. Gas boiler hasn't been on all season.....what a nice thing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!

38 outside 73 inside 4300 step top Quad and the heat has not been on yet.

32 outside, 79 inside in the room the stove is located in, 70 in the room farthest from the stove on the first floor. Probably 70 upstairs.

I live in southern maine. Outside temp is 32, inside temp is 78. I have had the 2003 vc resolute acclaim burning since 4:00 this afternoon and just filled it for the night. My inlaws are staying with us for a few days and they are pretty impressed with the stoves ability to heat our house and keep everything nice and toasty. they have often given me the look...why do you spend so much time obsessing about wood look? They still don't completely understand but at least have admitted that the end result is a good source of heat in the house. They typically keep their house at 65 and don't turn the heat on until november first regardless of temp. I think they like the fact that with free wood and the stove I can keep the house at 80 and not worry about how much it is costing me. Happy thanksgiving all...I need to go refill my Jamesons. Tis the season
