I could not get myself to abuse my stove that way, let someone else win.

The ponies were meant to run so let them run.

A good stove will give it a good fight and I know the Harman PC45 will run for a minimum of two tons.

Yes, but at what efficiency. Ash is a insulator, so heat will be wasted out the vent. I got into the habit of spending 10 minutes each day cleaning mine, the heat output per bag is assume. Look at my sig, will have left over fuel come spring.

slls - How did you manage to shoot that avatar? Did you hold the shutter open?

lol I have been waiting 3 years for some one to ask. At various shut downs, I just kept snapping the shutter, finally got what I wanted. My wife thinks I am a nut, I just love to watch it shut down.

I stopped by a local dealer to get a part for a friend. I got my first close up of the M55 freestanding model and the ash pan is HUGE compaired to my Omega. I might have to back an M55 owner. I has to be 1 1/2 times larger.

my pellet boiler ran though almost a ton of MWP without a cleaning, then the fire wouldn't run without the door open as the HX was too plugged.... I wonder how it would do on good pellets, I'm too cheap to go for the best pellets.

I forgot about the guys with them big furnaces. Equally have big ash pans too. These things were built to burn goobs of pellets with out messing with them. This could be interesting!

I really think its going to go to the cleanest pellet burning and biggest ash pan.

When one of you guys brings his pellet furnace or boiler up from the basement, and sits it next to the dining room table, or the living room couch, then I'll consider it....... :lol:

I can go about a week straight at a time, Whitfields just collect 95% of the ash around the firepot, the ash bin is a joke, it's just there to push air up the fire grate.
Harmon P68 prob will win, push style with huge ash bins.
My bro-inlaw cleans his Enviro daily, cause he wont run it when he's not home and hates to light a dirty stove.

I have an Englander so I have already lost. Even though for the money it is the best value out there. Other than cleaning I have had no issues with the stove.

OK, I'm ready. I bought a sheet of 16 Ga steel , and made an extension for my Englander. The hopper/firebox now sits about 7' off the floor, and I also made the ash "drawer" the same amount higher.....it is also about 6' high.

I now have an ash container under the burn pot that will hold approx the same as a 55 Gal. drum. ;-P

EDIT: Just remembered to bring the step ladder in from the garage to use to load pellets. :cheese:

That's one ugly mess there! Bet it wasn't throwing much heat towards the end. You GF55 burning Spruce Pointes will go a while. You P61 would be a better choice to enter because of the large ash pan.

Just remember once you open the door its game over. This is where the self cleaners will shine. We have proof of an Omega going 10 weeks straight and burned 35 plus bags and the stove was still running. I think Rod was burning Energex which aren't the cleanest on the block. Put a softwood in there like the Spruce Pointes with half the ash content and its 70 bags plus. I think Rod has access to Bear Mountain Douglas fir and they will be even cleaner burning. If you look at the pictures posted the burn pot area is still visable and it will keep burning until the ash fills the ash pan and starts up the stove housing toward the burnpot. There is alot more volume to go! Wish I could get the bigger pictures to post!

If I come to play,(most likely I will not though. Main source of heat and wife cold factor!). Best pellet I found is a toss up between Dragon Mountains or Spruce Pointes. I better stop here, I am giving to much away already!

I will PM Rod and give him a heads up. Hopefully he will come play.

The GF55 has a bigger hopper believe it or not than my P61. Anyway, I have to do the Greenfire because it is the new shop heater. The P61 in in the house. Wife will get super pissy if that thing freaks out...besides, she is always opening the door to make sure nothing is going wrong...the only thing wrong it that she keeps looking inside.

Normal cleaning for our Quad 1200i was every two weeks, but as long as I was burning a quality pellet it could have gone another couple weeks. The glass would have been foggy, but it could definitely do it.

Im not going to play but for the past 3 seasons I service my stove in September before winter hits and clean out my stove around Christmas.
I do not open the door at all for that time. I burn about 3 ton a year.

My stove is set to Auto mode. (On and off) stat and my feed rate set to Medium because my house is only 1900 sq feet and my stove is 80k BTU

Now I only trust the on and off mode with my type of stove because it had the Burn pot agitator to remove clickers and clean the pot.
when I had a Windsor I used Hi low mode

Auto/Off should be fine. Its not how fast you burn thru them, Its how much you can burn overall.

to see which multifuel will win the battle.
