Or PM Dennis! I'll take care of it.

Now I am getting excited. The BTU's seem like a pretty hefty improvement over the FV (80K vs 55K). The size only changed from 2.2 cu ft to 2.7 cu ft. For the life of me I cannot figure out how they got a 45% increase in Max BTU with only a 23% increase in firebox size. The efficiency improvement alone does not explain it.

Funny they did not post official log length - unless I missed it. I feel a hernia and ruptured disc will be on the way after moving that 615 lb beast. :grrr:

Ditto buddy! Yuh I paid for the brewski's and let Woodstock take the credit.. That's just the kind of guy I am :)

Well, it won't break anyone supplying me with beer. Usually one is enough.

When I measured my Fireview's actual usable fire box I only came up with 1.8 cu ft so maybe the new stove has a more accurate measurement?

Hey Tony, that is great. I hope TJ comes with you too.

Todd, it is possible the open house could be early September or possibly into October. It appears the date has not been set for sure yet. I'll post if I find out the date.

We had a good time last year and are hoping more hearth.com guys go to the party. I'm pretty sure Craig will be there too.

I agree. The 2.7' is probably usable space, rather than a theoretical total volume like 2.2' for the FV. 2.7/1.8 = 1.5 x 55k = 82.5k btu. I suspect that the non-cat secondary combustion in the new stove may support higher peak burn rates than the cat in the FV will. As I understand it, a cat of a given size will burn only a certain amount of exhaust flow, and any exhaust in excess of that amount would pass through the cat unburned. My guess is that the new stove's secondary combustion can handle a higher rate of exhaust flow for higher peak btu's. I think this is why there are many non-cat stoves about the same size as the FV, like the PE Super, rated for ~70k btu. Of course, you would have to burn wood at a faster rate to support the higher output.

That makes sense Den. I also noticed the low burn rate of 10,000 btu per hour is the same as my Keystones so it can also be turned way down to that low slow cat burn. I guess you get the best of both worlds. We should see some pictures of this beast soon.
