I live in Northeast Georgia around the Athens area and need help identifying this wood. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Show me that leaf on the top log. If the leaf looks like a kitty’s head, it’s tulip poplar. It certainly could be. Tulip poplars are generally tall, thinish trees. I’m pretty sure they’re the tallest tree east of the Mississippi.
 
The bottom pic is poplar. The top pic looks like different wood, perhaps ash.

ps The big log in the background in the top pic is The Tree of Georgia, Southern Yellow Pine. Makes all the 2x10s you see in Home Depot.

Top pics look like ash bark with it's diamond pattern.
