Funny. The government didnt mandate GM to build a Silverado. The consumers desire to go faster with more comfort is why cars were improved.
No but they did mandate abs. And emmisions which lead to fuel injection across the board. And crash testing which made an accident survivable. Roll over standards make trucks nicer to drive. Mpg regs make them cheaper to drive.

It isn't the EPA or ntsbs fault that Chevy still uses crappy electronics while most other companies figured it out long ago. Or that they cant make a truck that doesn't leak.

No the govt was shareholder

So when do you think the next phase of standards is set to kick in? The 2020 is happening now. When is the next? Is it every 5 years it tightens?

No it is not every 5 years. The first stage took effect in 1988. 2020 is the second stage

Not true. The first standards were 1988. Stricter standards enacted 2015. Ever tightened standards 2020.

No actually stage one started in 1988 and involved multiple phases laid out in that stage. Stage 2 was not determined at that point because they wanted to see where things would go. That was set in 2015 after phase 4 took effect. According to what was laid out in the clean air act 2020 is the 5th and final phase. But that remainder to be seen

Just in case you are actually carrying firewood in your arms, I recommend getting something like this
I normally use a canvas tote but yesterday, I didn't mess around. I sprayed off the wheels just in case my wife caught me, which she did. ;lol One load filled about 2/3 of the 36" hoop.

I'd guess that the next step will be mandatory registration. So that the "air police" can make sure you aren't running a stove in a way that violates EPA regs. I believe that is already the case in some parts of the country.

Yes in some areas where there are big problems with air quality usually due to air inversions.

A lot of times, that's why the government ends up stepping in. People many times are ignorant of their impact, or they are lazy and just don't care. This world would be an even bigger mess if everyone was left to their own devices.

Yeah no one want the govt to step in untill their neighbor is being an a-hole. Then it's fine
