So. Maple it is. That's awesome. I say that because I just checked some. Oak one year seasoned and it. Was. Upper 30's. I like the oak but I'm thinking it's not in my future to have the years worth of oak. Property just not right for that kind of load.
The first photos look like red maple. The second pics, not so much. I've worked up a lot of red maple here and don't recall finding that rippling in it.
Have never had the pleasure of working with hard maple so I can't tell ya what it looks like.
