I dont think he needs to with that OWB. People I know with one hardly ever split. Just cut it down and throw it in. Sometimes if it is really green they will let it sit for a few weeks...
 
Ah, right. Probably would only need splits to start. Once it's burning, you probably keep it going all winter?
