It’s very dense, I grabbed it and was like “woah! I’m saving this for when it’s properly cold.” I’m not sure I have enough to actually fill the stove exclusively with it, and it’s dry so there is no smell really to it.
 
Not knowing how fast it'll take off, I'd mix it anyway with other wood. E.g. oak.
 
Doesn’t look like black locust that I’ve seen around here.
 
I too have seen the smaller locust grow fast.
