Hmmm :coolhmm: My new one is what someone would think the north is all the time, BUT we do get two days a year that looks like this. Thursday and Friday according to Uncle Brother Bart.

The avatar is the normal weather. The pics are after that Blaze King is cranked up and the front door opened for a few hours.

Mine just makes me feel good, looking at the fruit of my labour. Here's a larger version.

Something that has had me wondering for a while... I wonder why there are some that have their avatar of a burning house? Dont most wood burners fear this most? I know I do. Not knocking anyones avatar, just more curious than anything else........

No. It doesn't even crack the top 20 fears on my list.

If it was mine, I think all of us need to remember the consequences of being careless or irresponsible. Some simply take it for granted that one lights a fire inside a home built of kiln dried lumber. I have seen more homes burnt to the ground in the last 4 years than in the previous 36.

Mine is just my goofy dog begging me to crank it up!

I never noticed your stacks in the background, that is incredible! Looks like you cut them to length after you stacked them  I can't get stacks that nice because most of my wood comes from tree trimmers, they don't care if two pieces are the same length.

mine is me -

same hair line and i smoke like a 1972 VC full of green wood ;)

I'll let you in on a little secret. The back side of the stack is all ragged. I tap them all into place after they're stacked. Here's another pic of the 9 foot high stacks.

C'mon, that's really Thursday morning and Thursday afternoon, right? Rick

Most of the people on my ignore list are there because I don't wont to see their avatars.

It would be a lot easier just to edit your preferences to not display member's avatars.

Anybody that has been on this site for more than a week probably has mine figured out.

I can just see me out in the yard with an adult beverage in one hand driving around and inspecting my wood piles.

Maybe it's my avatar being referred to. I just thought it might remind people to be safe so their house doesn't look like that. The photo is of a house in Australia that burned from the recent fires they had there. A larger photo can be seen if you click on my name in the signature.

addressing the OP's inquiry about being freaked that the house is gonna burn down; I used to be scared out of efluent about it and I ended up actually burning too cold. But haning out here and learning I'm more comfortable with it, both warmer and peace of mind. As to the avatar, well- it's just what I like to do................

Mine is of a wood burning brick pizza oven I built for my wife after cancer surgery to show her that she would be around a long time cooking bread and pizza european style. As a transplated German it was a dream of hers to have one in her backyard. We still make bread and pizza year 'round.

Ditto. Me doing what I do after the wood's been put up for the year. (Well, I sneak a few races in between.)
You guys that mistake The Nuge for Gallagher or Weird Al....you must live way deeper in the woods than me. LOL.

Or maybe we are just showing our age? The 'Nuge is a bit before my time, I'd say. Al Yankovic is more within my time period :)

My post is of Bubba the Damatian posing on Engine 5 at Station 5 . . . on another forum I use a photo of the Masonic Hall on fire . . . a picture similar to one circulated world wide a few years back as there is fire showing in the windows, but the entire building is encased in ice due to the extreme cold and sheer amount of water used on that fire.

didn't even know that was an option.

A home on my street just burnt down yesterday morning about 5:45am. I was away on business in western IL, and got the call from my wife when she left for work at 6:30. Total loss. Firefighters had to return to the scene in the afternoon when the blaze flared up for the second time. What wasn't burnt drowned in the deluge from the fire hoses. Very sad.

Right up there on top of the list of my biggest fears. I fought a raging fire in my kitchen a few years ago and if the last trip back into the inferno hadn't worked the house would have been gone. You just can't realize the power of fire until you stand in the middle of a room full of it.

There is now a 10 ABC in every room in the house, five more and a Scott's Airpack outside the building envelope.

After almlost 63 years on this planet--finally I could afford to buy an almost new vehicle for cash. Yep, my 2006 Ford Ranger that was proudly built in the twin cities supporting north american jobs. And this young puppy has only 28000 klicks (not miles).. hah, hah.

I am just loving it, and when I am tired of enjoying driving it -- well maybe go back to my old sig and avatar?? :coolcheese:

My 1994 Ranger has 57K on it now. Runs like a top. Good lil' truck.

Mine is to show what used to be my favorite thing to do in the winter while sitting in a nice toasty living room. Watching the Oiler's play hockey. After missing the playoffs 3 straight years in a row, I think there will be a change coming soon. Real soon!! Maybe a catchy new handle too!

EDIT: there oilers and North of 54th are out and the new ones are in.

Mine is the last puppy and dog I will ever own, he is now going on 3 this fall and is the last of a line of sharpies from my ex-fianceés line.
