my maxim is going great, good solid stove, most issues were induced by me.

I love my Harmon P61a. Minus 3 here this morning and it is heating the entire house very comfortably. I do not regret my decision to purchase this stove.

My Breckwell P2700 has been outstanding, into its second year now, great heat output, will burn about anything, even the pre-November Athens pellets :). My Enviro mini burns awesome, have had a few problems with it igniting though.

I too have a Harman P61A. It's only been running for a few months, but its running great!!! Just recently added an OAK and love it more. It meets more then my expectations. Heats the house no problem. Would highly recommend!!! Haven't burned a drop of oil since turning this puppy on.....SWEET!!!

Some of the people on this site love their stoves more than their wives, I am sure.

Not me I love my wife and I like my stove.

I always figured it'd take some time to get an installation shaken down.

Now about those pre November critters, I have been oxidizing some of the late July vintage. I find it to be an excellent ash extraction system test.

The first year we had our stove we didn't rely on it completely. The second year I moved the thermostat for the furnace into our bedroom so it would only come on when the door was closed at night. For the next 2 years we didn't use 1/8 of a tank of oil. This year it'll be the same as the stove heats out whole house at whatever temperature we choose, usually 72. The only parts replaced were due to my own ignorance. Remember, ignorance is curable, stupidity ain't. Buying pellets off season every year has enabled us to recoup our investment in savings on oil, and we're looking forward to more of the same. The important thing isn't cleaning frequently as much as thoroughly. I have to remember to turn the furnace on once in awhile so the pipes won't freeze, other than that oil is now our back up.

Good one! Anyone up here have a gas chromatograph -- I'm about ready to take delivery on a ton of pellets and I don't want to get taken. We really need to get this analysis thing down!

Osburn 45 - a little nervous because we purchased what we could find and didn't know much about it but it has been great.
Heats entire house (2000 sq ft.) on mid setting to 70 on a real cold day and the upstairs (open stairwell) gets a little too hot, have to close bedroom doors at night to cool them down.
Have never used highest 2 settings and we were -5 last night.

I have 4 Whitfield in operation, 2 Inserts and 2 freestanding, My insert in my main home run's 24/7 (1 during the day, 2 at night)This insert was manufactured in 1994. I've only replaced the igniter. I think pellet stove are like a car, You just can't run them with out some TLC. I don't burn 6 ton's a year, 1 1/2 0r 2 ton's, I vac the stove every other day. I do a major cleaning every year. It you want to do as little as possible don't buy a pellet stove. If your handy and don't mind getting your hands a little dirty then a pellet stove is a great heat your home. I love my Whitfield's and I will always burn pellets...

New stove owner as of June 2008. Been very happy with my Englander 25....No real problems--had that whine that seems fairly common--but it went away and hasn't returned.

Most of the time I keep it on #1---and it keeps the room in the low 70's. It got fairly cold here in S NE recently--turned it up to #5---& it's just toasty warm....

I've been reading posts here for a few months--I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this---but this thing has done wonders for our sex life!!!

Normally--my wife & I keep the house cool to the point where it's not really comfortable without your clothes on..

Now though----we just throw a blanket on the floor in front of the stove.....it's nice & warm plus you have the nice romantic firelight to boot.

Right now--it'd probably be cheaper to just use oil........BUT............this is as good a reason as any to keep the stove cranking.....

Love my Englander. So far, so good.

Knock-Knock-Knock

So far after 2-3 years, I have been VERY pleased with the operation of my Harman p61A and Quadrafire Castile Stove. I wish the Quad put out a little more heat - but overall I have been very pleased with my investments. Yes there is work and maintenance involved in these - but its worth it. Moving tons of pellets from car to garage to house has become my personal workout routine in Winter. While my friends and neighbors admire but shun my labor with these stoves, they sit in their Natural Gas heated homes-shivering, with extra blankets, sweatshirts, so while at 62-65 degrees their utility bills don't exceed their mortgage payment.

Love my Enviro Empress FS. Purchased it last April and have had great success with it.

In addition, it is a great looking stove!!

Handles my drafty circa 1825 house quite well!
