The house is 3.5 hours away :)

I will take measurements this weekend and take a better look at things.

The only thing i know for sure is that the 15" ceramic lined flu was replaced with an 11" stainless liner top to bottom and vermiculite was poured around the tube to fill the void and insulate.


I have no idea how the rest is insulated as it is behind the siding.

If it is not, that is to say, if its a concrete box encased with T111, can I insulate the block to hold the heat better and stave off ripping the house apart ?
If so , what should/could I use?
