Am remodeling an old cabin - 1200 sq. ft open ranch style. Chimney is approximately 12 feet from Tee to top of chimney. Because the clay tiles are exactly 6X6 inside, I have to use 5 inch liner ( I haven't installed one yet). If I use rigid liner I can extend the height a couple of feet above the current height but my concern is almost all stoves have a 6 inch vent. so which stove will still perform reasonably well with this reduction? Does any manufacturer even make a stove to use 5 inch pipe. Don't really want to go with a really small stove that takes a 4 inch pipe but I was thinking a stove with a firebox smaller than 2.0 maybe should work?

What kind of shape are the clay tiles in? If they have been properly inspected and in good shape try the stove with your current chimney. If not those tiles can be busted out then you could install a 6” liner.

The only Jøtul I know that can exhaust a 5” is the 602 but that may be to small a stove for your needs.
