Only burned 1.25 bags of pellets yesterday - woohoo!

No hope here. we just got about an inch of white stuff this morning.

Oh, is was snowing last night, but temps were still in the double digits - nice and warm!

Finally only burning 1 bag a day now. Have 25 bags left out of my 5 ton, hoping this will get me through.

Darn groundhog was wrong this year. He said 6 more weeks of winter 7 weeks ago! Down to my last ton here in VT.

Far as I'm concerned, the only thing a groundhog is good for is stew.

Apparently old man winter is desperately trying to freeze hell over.

WE are going backwards here. Was 28 when I got up this morning, it's down to 24 now with snow in the forecast. Odf course the stove is chuggung along, problem is, the end of the fuel supply is in sight.

13 here this AM but the sun is out and no winds gusting to over 40(last 2 days) so things are looking a whole lot better. Supposed to be in 60s next week. Still no real chance at rain.

Yesterday morning the yard was white again, then it melted in the afternoon. Cold again last night and below freezing for another few days. April forecast is about the same. YUCK.
I'm well into next winter's wood pile now. Good thing I css enough softer wood last winter just in case. Now I have to get moving on next year's wood. What a PITA.

For those who don't believe in global warming, 2014 was the warmest year in modern record keeping according to NASA and NOAA plus all the other record keeping sites.

Maybe if the warm winter hits our side of the earth next year, we won't need to use our stoves and my igloo will melt.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

We had rain here in Central Maine last night, but it was a near thing at 33/34 degrees!
Never thought I'd be this happy to see rain (or mud season!) at those temperatures.
Last night was one of the rare nights in the last few months that I didn't keep the wood stove
running all night. I've been through 4 cords of wood, about 60 gallons of kerosene, and
maybe 1/2 ton of bio-bricks this winter. I have almost half a cord of wood left, and with a few
bio-bricks thrown in I ought to make it. There are almost 2 cords in my emergncy pile,
but that ain't really dry enough.

Even the oldtimers around her are commenting on the severity of the past winter.

I have a couple associates up you way that are forage growers (like I am) and they are genuinely worried about latent ground moisture and forage crops (not just corn). We have received some liquid precip and enough snowpack to make the 1st cut produce...if it ever warms up enough. This is shaping up like last year...gonna be another 2 cutter. Thats good for hay prices but you cannot bank anything in reserve and that always worries me.

Actually with last years ground breaking, record breaking winter ... I doubt if that is true ...

Global Warming/Climate Change has never been proven....Mr. Gore is making millions off fear ...

I heard rumblings that Mr. Gore was considering a Presidental run.....;lol

Mr. Fear Monger in Chief ..

Isnt he the one that had could not spell potato?
Let's stay on subject or I will have another thread lock today.

Even though the first day of spring is March 20th, where I live it's really April 20th.
