Well, I'm not sure "old geezer" is appropriate....let's just say I have a pretty good memory.

My wife sez I useta have one of those. Now she just marks everything on the calender, and reminds me to look at it.

I use yellow Sticky notes.... :cheese:

HMM where it started ?
Was it the speculation, or was it the loans for homes to people that were already so far in debt that they couldn't even afford them ?
Which brought on defaults on securities to force investors in to guess what invest in oil :bug: .
I sure MR. Bush and his cronies loved that :snake: .
IMO, will see cheap fuel for awhile until OPEC and all the other oil barons of the world can cool down any thought of alternative energy.
Just my opinion. :vampire:

What month? I dunno. Early Spring prolly. I'll let ya
know after I order them.

Which ever month looks like it will be the cheapest. I'm also only gonna buy them if they can be delivered within two weeks i hopes of avoiding problems like the folks in CT had.

Our dealer give us a fixed rate for the season because we bought our stove on them so i just get a tonne at a time. two tonnes so far

Hmmmmmmmmmm.......... Gas under $1.00/gal would bring HHO under $1.50? How do ya figger that? Traditionally, if my memory (which ain't what it useta be) serves me correctly, deisel fuel and HHO until 2 - 3 years ago were always cheaper than gasoline. Everybody is climbing onto the speculation (futures) bandwagon, here, seems to me, but, then again, that's just my opinion.
The HHO and diesel of 2-3 years ago isn't the same stuff it is today. The gov't stepped in with some new very expensive regulations on the sulfur content, particulate emissions, etc of diesel fuel. It now costs more to produce diesel than it does to produce gasoline. It's never going to cost less than gas again. HHO should run about 60 cents/gal less than diesel because of the lack of road taxes on HHO but it doesn't seem to be that way - likely because there's a more limited market for HHO (primarily the Northeast) and lack of alternative for an HHO user.

Gasoline under $1 would be catastrophic to this country (and likely the world). The only thing that pushes it that far down is some really really bad news in every other sector of the economy........"isn't it great that gas is $1/gal?...if only I had a job to pay for it or a car to use it..."

I don't think the question should be when, but if ?
The way oil prices are going we could see $1.50 gal for HHO next year, if that is the case I would have to get my pellets for around $175 a ton to break even, if I can't I'll be filling the 2 - 275 gal. oil tanks in my basement, would rather burn pellets, but for me it's all about the $$$$ savings.

Don't forget the benefit of paying for your neighbors job instead of a Saudi princes lavish lifestyle, and think about this... no matter where we in the US get our oil, increased demand means increased prices for EVERYONE who sells crude. That means Russia, Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia... anyone.

Local pellets do more good for everyone.

As for the original question, I missed out on good deals this summer, not having the foresight to predict this current spike in pellet demand, so I'll get them early in the summer. I'd like to pig out early this time.

Can't really tell ya ;-)

I will purchase more IF/WHEN the price is right and I have enough room to store
them. Had good luck purchasing in the spring when the prices were the lowest, but
who knows what next year is going to bring for prices as the demand for pellets is
higher now.

I will start looking at things maybe in April, and try to buy by June. I need my pellets delivered to my cellar door. Once they are here, and an hour or two is spent getting them into the cellar, I'll be all set again for another season. Around here (a remote corner of northern New York State), pellets (especially good ones) can be hard to find at certain times. I can't buy-as-I-go though the heating season - they're just not available. And this way the work of getting them here is done, and done in warm, non-slippery weather.

And after reading the horror stories here, I will NOT prepay - I will buy for immediate shipment from an area distributor. May cost more, but I'll have pellets.
