Ash. I thought winter was over but a big storm blew in from S. Carolina, we got 50 degrees and it is going to rain all day. Girlfriend loves the wood stove.
The trees are Ponderosa Pine. Not a great fuel, but because they are 36"-42" diameter the local guy did not want to process them. I got the truck load (8+) cords for $400.00 delivered. Everyone said "look at how dry that stuff is". Well it's 30% mc in the center. Tons of pitch oozing out. Splitting is VERY difficult because rounds are all 300+lbs. Yes, cut to 17" for my King 40.90F+ degrees every day (so normal), but not humid. I work in the mornings and evenings (sometimes). BKVP, is that Lodgepole Pine cut to 15"-16"? It looks like easy splitting with not very many knots.
I was using my cell phone and got to within 6 ft of him. Then he looked at me and let out real loud screech, so I went back to looking for driftwood. See how I tied that back into about wood?Yes, the picture from my avatar I took from the Eagle in a tree along the brook that runs through our property.
Yours is a much better picture. 👍
