My catalytic converter gets covered with ash, and it's in such an awkward position that a regular vacuum nozzle can't reach it very well.

Is there a preferred vacuum out there with a small/flexible profile nozzle that can reach into that narrow area?

Any vacuum + hose + tape?

I’ve had good luck with a small funnel, tape and small diameter clear plastic hose and a shop vacuum. Cut the top of the funnel so it’s slightly larger than the vacuum hose, tape in place then slide the plastic hose of suitable diameter over the funnel discharge. I use a shop vacuum instead of the house vacuum so the ash doesn’t mess up the house vacuum.

I would recommend picking up an ash vacuum just because. Get a soft brush tip like the one on the right below on amazon.
