Take ya a few days off.

Do you think the Miami Heat, the New York Giants, the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, or whoever won the European football champions league title last year took time off because they had done enough? NO! They got right back out there and kept getting better. Do you want to be the Pittsburgh Pirates of wood cutting? Get cuttting!

p.s. If you really need a break and you're near State College, PA, give me a call and I'll take that oak.

Chelsea FC won the European Champions League !!!

... Oh well, time to get over to the neighbors to see if I can take the huge white oak that lays on their property....

That "sick" thought seemed to last about as long as it took to write the paragraph, I reckon.

My inspiration to cut became quite clear today. The big brown stork showed up with a spankin new 576xp in one box, and a 28 inch bar in another. I am gonna need a bigger truck...........

I don't believe it happened unless........

I look out the window and see piles of logs waiting to be split- that is my day dream every day while I am at work starring at that stupid brick wall.

I am just the opposite. I split and stacked my last piece in March! I am dying to get back into it. There is wood everywhere from Sandy. I even have about 2 1/2 cords of Black Locust logs on my driveway. I simply don't have the room to stack any more wood on my little 1/4 acre lot. I can only split and stack to replace what I burn and that darn Fireview is so efficient that I've barely made a dent in the 13 or so stacked cords out back. I probably won't be able to get busy until after the new year. That will be 8+ months off.

I will give you my address and you can drop some logs off in my driveway! I know i'm about an hour north of you if that! I promise I will put it to good use! LOL

BIG saw! ==c Can I share your toys?

I don't want to get rid of it. I'm just itching to get back into it and I can't!

believe me i know your pain this spring i cut split and stacked 7 cords in 13 days. all by hand to i wasnt looking at a piece of wood all summer but i have half a truckload of logs sitting at the base of the driveway just waiting to be bucked and split. should be around 4 cords i figure ill work on it in the colder months and have the warmer ones to myself. take a breather hit it hard

That is an very clean saw to be sporting on that pile of cut wood. Like it is new. How many peoples neck's were getting sore from looking at a pic at 45 deg. angle.

That's the two things I got out of it too.

I look out the window and see piles of logs waiting to be split, sitting in front of piles of splits waiting to be stacked. There is at least 8 cords on the ground needing my attention. I think I will leave it for Jan/Feb when the dulldrums of winter set in. I think part of the lack of enthusiasm is due to the fact that there is so much wood on the ground from Sandy that I am constantly thinking of processing wood. Oh well, time to get over to the neighbors to see if I can take the huge white oak that lays on their property....
Sacrilege...

Lets see who can ID "what's wrong with this picture?"

• Saw looks like a virgin, can't have worked on that stack, can it?
•I think the photo is actually taken from above, not from the side as it appears.
If it had been taken from the side as it "appears" that whole woodpile would have fallen as there are some limbs that are shown in gravity defying positions, including the large smooth one that "appears" to be leaning forward...

•Also, probably not a safe way to leave a chainsaw? And since it's (IMO) from above, would that leak bar oil?
• Maybe a bit long bar for not so big logs.
• Messy pile of splits, rounds and longer sections.
PS What is that smooth bark section ?-- kinda purdy wood

Pic is from the side. Pile is tall. Saw had not been started at that point. As far as smooth bark goes, I don't think there is any. Pile contains White Oak, Hickory, Cherry and Elm, which I think is what you're referring to. No bark. And yes, the bar is long. Thank you very much.

hahaha....Is he trading away 3 year seasoned oak for fresh poplar and "future prospects"?

Been there mywaynow.

In the past I got sick of splitting sooner when the wood I was getting was absolute trash. This stuff was deadfall that laid on the ground for who knows how long.
Some of it was so bad I burned it outside.

After this season I will be on to much better wood. I am actually anxious to split this stuff because I know it will not fall apart like my old mushy trash wood.

BTW, have fun with the new family member. I keep watching that big brown stork (UPS truck ;)) fly by my house but he hasn't stopped in a while.
