Where would we be without the technology we have today. Dropping quarters in a slot or sending smoke signals lol. I do like the Internet fountain of useful info. Hopefully this winter will be done soon . We're getting ready for yet another winter storm here, yeehaw

I have about 1/3 cord left from what I planned to burn this winter. I have another cord from next years stash that is ready to burn if I need it. I will have to excavate some snow and ice to get to it though. This has been a tough winter with no real breaks in the cold.

In most years I'd be almost done burning by March 1, this year it looks like at least another 10 days

Yes, I remember! Last year we were burning in May. But it seemed the températures were not as extrme as this year. Last year I started burning in November, this year was October. I had figured I`d need 4 cords for this year, but I piled 5 cords in the wood shed in the barn. Went through the whole lot. I have enough left for the week. Then I`ll have to dip into next year`s stash. I was burning standing dead spruce and pine, though. So that explains the quick burns. This year I`ll be cutting maple and oak to burn in three years. I`m finally starting to get on top of my game.

Hahaha! Well, no. The Cyr family come from three sons who immigrated to Canada in the 1600`s. One of the sons eventually gave Louis. I`m from another who gave me the brains! lol!

They`ve recently made a movie about Louis Cyr here in Québec. It is a popular film. If half of what is shown in the film is true, he was a very powerful man.

How much do humans and our activities affect climate? Unknown.

Maybe unknown on a 'global' scale, but known on a local and regional scale. And the more we fill all the regions of the Earth, and the more we affect those climates...We may never understand global weather, fully.
But I think it's more often we change our picture of 'normal' as time goes by. Kinda like how Schlitz turned into a relic. They kept testing off the last version they had, not the reference beer of 20 years earlier.
But Humans are made to forget. Helps us deal with the new.
Urbanization has it's costs. Regional climate/environment being just some of the costs.
