does supervent have anything like this?

that provides the clearance space you'd need

Goodness, no. The pipe it shows there isn't close to being long enough. I might end up 12" round duct work to go from inside thimble to outside thimble. From what I've read, it is only to keep combustible material from the stove pipe, and at the same time, supply the dead air space for the heat to dissipate.

Ehhhh, I meant that wouldn't work for me, not that supervent didn't have an extension.

That's exactly right. There's not much to it at all. It's a simple fix. We trim them or extend them on a regular basis. Nothing to it!

One last question regarding the round metal duct I plan on using to surround the chimney pipe (from inside thimble to outside thimble). Is 26 gauge appropriate? That's really all I can find in that diameter. I emailed Supervent as to the gauge of there shorter section, but didn't hear back.

Go ahead and measure the thickness since you have to pull it out anyway. Menards has an attic radiation shield that is 12"- maybe this can be used in the wall as well. ***I am not sure if I interpret this correctly to permit the use of the JUSI insulation and the attic radiation shield on a wall install for added insulation, this would give you the added length. Have someone from the SuperVent company verify this first- Can anyone here verify this?

Or, I guess you could remove the combustibles from that area and fill them with concrete to obtain your clearances. Check with your code official before undertaking this task.

26 ga should be fine, but all you need for a 12" diameter extension collar is a band of sheet metal that is about 6" x 41".
