That's why I'm going to hit Crosby's soon and order what I need for next heating season. The way things are looking now peices will not be going down, unless heat oil drops.

I was told by the gal at the mill when I called that from 4/1 - 4/30 the cost per ton will be $235 cash picked up. I'm going to start hauling on Monday just in case the price changes..

They don't sell to only dealers, starting Monday anybody can buy as many ton as one needs at $235 per ton, picked up at the mill.

Do you see any difference when you burn Super Premium pellets in your stove? I don't. Harman's run based on temp, not feed rates so in theory, you would only see a difference in usage.

Not much difference in heat output. The only real difference is the ash build up. How much, and how it forms in the pot. I've burned 5 different brands and they all take different form. The green team filled the pot in a matter of hours and seemed like it was holding down the flame. The Lg's filled the pot but let the flame come up as normal, it took about 2 bags to do so. The logiks rode the sides of the pot and kept the middle open. The vt's, okies, and mcfeeters have very little ash.

The stove will burn anything I put in her, but I like to sit and watch it burn with a beer or a whisky. It bugs the he'll out of me when glass is dis-colored. Mcfeeters, lg, and the okies keep it clean. The vt's leave a film on the glass. I like the way they burn though.

That's good to know. I scrape burn pot every 3 to 4 four days and clean glass as needed. Where do u get the thermometers from. Been looking for one to check temp on inside of stove

I tried an oven thermometer inside the stove but it got so filled with ash I gave up at that. The magnetic one you should be able to get at any stove shop.

I picked up 3 ton today at $235 per ton, 8 more to pick up. I found out today that they are only selling 500 ton at the $235 per ton cost, they have already have sold 100 ton so..... buyers beware, as soon as 500 ton have been sold, the prebuy cost per ton is over.

In NNY, Massena in fact, Curran's are produced, and you can get them to bring you a 20+ ton trailer load, buy in bulk, pick them up by the ton, whichever way you want. I don't think you can buy by the bag. Anyway they, Curran's, have a "woodyard" on the Canadian border at Chateaugay, NY and you can also buy by the ton out of that yard. They sell hardwood, 20% softwood and 80% hardwood mixed, or all softwood pellets. I burned a ton of the mixed and weighed the ash myself. The bag advertises <1% ash and I weighed up 8 lbs for the ton or 0.4%. Anyway, I don't know what their prices are right now, but I bought 10 tons of the mixed from one of their retailers and he delivered then 5 tons at a time for $225 last fall. They sure do burn nice in that Harman boiler.
