Today, I ran across this stove. I've never seen any like it personally. I researched it and I think its a Vermont Casting Dutchwest Seneca. I don't really have any idea what it's worth. It seems to be in very good condition. There are a few chips and flaking here and there, but nothing egregious at all. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated. Also, if anyone can give a good idea of its value I would appreciate it.

It's an efficient, catlytic, EPA stove. Parts are still available. The resale price will depend on the internal condition. If it is ok internally, then it could sell for $800-1000 to the right buyer.

You did ok. That's a decent price. It looks to be in nice visual condition. Will you be installing and using it?

I believe so. I've wanted a good stove for a while, but my wife is very particular on how things look. She's not a fan of the old rustic stoves (I am...she's not). This being a very modern and colorful stove in appearance, will fit more into her style and I get what I want in having a wood heater. In my research, I see that it's wise to make sure that the catalytic combustor should be checked to ensure that the stove works properly. Would that be correct?

Are there bricks inside? I think I see a crack in the middle back.

I think to better answer your question. The bottom on the inside of this stove, or the "Flat Grate," is steel and perfect. The back of the stove, or the "Flat Grate" is what you are seeing in the picture with the crack in it. I did not notice it until you mentioned it, so thank you. It's not very expensive to replace and it slides in and out of position.

Here I think. What is the condition of this section?
