Gorgeous stove!

I think your insert is the Georgian model. And I think it's really sharp, however I already have a mantle on the fireplace, and I think the double mantle look make be a little odd.

Does anyone know if there is anything that would keep me from raising up the insert by an inch so to create the gap at the bottom of the fireplace instead of at the top?

Thanks for the help!
I have the mead surround in the brown. The installer used two pieces of durorock to raise the whole insert so I wouldn't need the trim kit, as the black would look bad with the brown. The fan on low is really quiet. On high it's pretty loud.

I have had mine a few weeks now and gets my house really toasty. The fan is about the same as a floor fan. I can set it in low and barely know it is running but on high it moves a lot of air so I do have to turn the TV up.
Did my first top down tonight. Took two tries to get it right but OMG it was amazing how quickly I was up to operating temp. Trick was it needed a bit more kindling and I helped it along with a torch. Loaded it for a second burn with 3 16" splits about 4" across and they lit instantly. Burned the wood down to almost pure ash. Clean glass as well with just a slight haze by the door hinge. Much better than the traditional tipi and paper under the kindling method.

I seem to be reloading a lot, almost every hour because I keep it fully opened and the fan on high, but it keeps the room toasty that way..... How are you all burning?.......

I started doing top down fires. I can load up the insert and it seems like the burn is very efficient. The key is to only reload when down to hot coals. I go for at least 3-4 hours and that is with the insert only half full. If you tight stack the splits you can go much longer. Burn on mine was topping out at 560 degrees when measured with my thermal imager.

That's a really nice looking insert!

Fully loaded and turned down all the way I get reasonable heat for about 8 hours. At that point there are enough hot coals to load some smaller splits on the coals then larger splits on top and she takes off again. I am burning almost exclusively 20% moisture red oak. Keeps the stove room in the low 70s and the rest of the house in the high 60s. There is a fan circulating the warmth.

If I leave the air supply fully open on a fully loaded stove it has a tendency to take off. The stove room gets too hot.
