This is Hearth.com after all....

  • Active since 1995, Hearth.com is THE place on the internet for free information and advice about wood stoves, pellet stoves and other energy saving equipment.

We strive to provide opinions, articles, discussions and history related to Hearth Products and in a more general sense, energy issues.

We promote the EFFICIENT, RESPONSIBLE, CLEAN and SAFE use of all fuels, whether renewable or fossil.
We also have an old copper bin that we use for storing kindling. Originally, these were laundry boilers where the wash was done. They often sat on special small stoves designed for heating the wash water. These small stoves were often put in a laundry room or outside shed.

We had one of these in a little shack that we used when our cows were calving when I was a kid, Dad called it a topsy stove. Would bring the calves in to dry them off in freezing temps.
Didn't get allot of sleep in those days. But that little stove would run you outside if you filled it with cut off hedge posts.

18 deg. outside right now and dropping 35mph wind. Looks like some good reading time today in the shed.

Here's the rest of the room. The balance of the shed is a shop.

Love the spool and tractor stools.
All the vintage items are cool too, and you have a sweet knife, axe, hatchet, and tomahawk collection.

I'm on my way over to take a stool and have coffee....LOL

Really like the apex height. No stooping over to load or clean out.
Great idea!
That lopi is very nice. It looks like it has 2-3 air controls? 2 on the doors and one up top?

Actually there are no air controls in the doors. Two below the doors and one air wash above the doors.

Not in our stove now, but it reminds me of an old thread way back when Brother Bart got his 30-NC and someone asked about its capacity. He showed a picture of a case of Natty Lite in the stove. I followed with a good natured counterpoint in the T6. Boy, I sure miss Roy.
