The Rhino/I just want some WOOD!/Update

Overnight we received a foot of snow so let's say it was fun getting to the wood, thank god for the winch,shovel and the old John Deere 826 snowblower.

The first two pictures I came out of the woods and around the corner and buried it (some shoveling took care of that), the next two pictures I was coming out of the woods packing the trail down in a different area and buried it (winch the rhino out then took care of that path with the John Deere 826 snowblower, pic 2619), pic 2620 & 2621 is another area I had to winch out of and 2622 is the rhino with the trailer after bringing in three loads of cherry.


The chains on the front tires still are the difference of getting to the wood compared to not getting the wood with the Rhino.

Looks like the Moose plow will be going on, we just did the deal this A.M., could be Thursday or Friday of this week depending on the one part he has to order.

I was out in the woods today with the tractor. At least 2.5 ft of snow. Even with 4wd I had to plow my way out to my trees with the bucket. At least the trees skid nice on the snow. It's a pain dragging the cable out and hooking the trees up. I pulled in 4 large birch trees that I had knocked down about a yr ago. I just need a couple of pickup loads to mix with my dry wood for the boiler. I must have 5 acres of birch trees that are dying from the drought 2 yrs ago.

Priced out a plow earlier this year, $700.00, decided against it but will think about it for next year. We're suppose to get some snow the next couple of nights so I'll just run the trails each night to keep it packed down.

You bring that up here, I like to pull other people out instead of myself.

Never need pull out yet. Just set the plow a little higher on the first glance if the snow is very heavy and wet but it will cut its own path. Now if where talking 14 inch's with snow drifts not going to do it, but other than that it will be in the aerosol for the next big outing!

Its amazing what the little jd does 24hp and without the plow chains and weights it would just set. What you have would be unstoppably! (with a plow)

Nice pics Zap! Reminds me of yesterday; I was stuck most of the day, everywhere I went. It warmed up to just above freezing and the snow turned soft on my trails. Got down to 20° last night so the trails should have hardened up again now. And we're supposed to be below zero for the next several days. Wheel tracks will be like concrete again....

Quads I'm just glad it was around the house, in one area coming out of the woods to the driveway I buried it so I had the wife back up the Envoy (hooked up to the back) then I winched the rhino out.


Thats when I decided to snow blow that path out with the JD 826 snowblower.

Sav, it looks like I'll be calling the Rhino dealer on a plow in the a.m. I think they carry plows from Moose.

Weighs about 90 pounds plus comes off in minutes, glad we're getting it because they are calling for another 6 inches in the next three days with a warmup at the end of next week.
