So Cent ALASKA
Got 2 made & full
roughly 10 cords (5 in each)
left side birch, will burn this side this winter. it's oldest & driest
Right side 60% birch 40% spruce
I walk out on the deck with a beer & just stare.
Man it feels good to look at all the work.
I know you guys know & will appreciate all the work into getting wood to this point.

Yes - 10 cords is a lot of work. Very well done!

I have about 12 cord stacked and another 2 or so in the fields. Feels good to be ahead of the game for sure!

Is that this year's wood or for a couple/several seasons? How much do you burn a year up yonder?

With the new BK with a cat, I don't know yet,
(Old stove about 8 cords of birch.)
got it last winter & haven't had it a full season but
I know it will be less, from the 4 months I burned it. Allot less than the old BK I had.
I'm guessing 5 - 6 cords.
With well seasoned wood maybe less :)

great job dave. did you stack that all by yourself or did you have a team of people? That would of taken me till next summer to stack haha I hate stacking.

Very nice, how long will green wood set in the building before it gets burned?

Now Thats HOT!

Dave, you do very nice work up there and I'm betting your family is very proud of you. Not only did you do a good job of building the shed but an excellent job of stacking too.

I don't remember whether or not anyone touched on this and you may have, but is the open side facing south?

Thanks all, this AM I had to set on the deck & eat breakfast & admire the view :)

BWS: Back side is south & is open

OS: Left side will get burned this winter along with some of the spruce in the R side

BCB: Stacked myself, wheel barrow & quad trailer
Got a few more cords to go so one more section to build

You're most definitely one of us now Dave . . .

Finished filling my own two-season woodshed last week . . . and like you I often walk out on to the back porch and just stare at it . . . seeing two season's worth of seasoned wood under cover and ready for whatever winter may bring gives a person a warm, fuzzy feeling . . . not as warm perhaps as having the Oslo burning full bore . . . but a warm feeling nonetheless.

Incidentally, be careful your wife doesn't catch you gazing longingly at your wood in the woodshed . . . my wife has caught me staring at my wood more than a few times and thinks I have psych issues. ;)

This was really more than we needed to know about you.

Looks good Dave. I think we can all relate to looking our wood plies over and feeling a sense of accomplishment. The picture that did it for me was the one that showed the depth of your stacks. That's a lot of work getting that all prepared. I still look mine over and usually end up wondering how I can get more in. I'm overflowing under my lean-to but still stopped for some Beech on Saturday night that is bone dry. I've got about 13-14 cords on dry wood and will likely only burn 9 in a year. Yet, I still can't seem to leave good wood laying there in the woods. Withdrawal is tough!

Bravo!!

Now go catch some Reds!!

All the best,
Mike

Awesome pics. I feel better now knowing that I am not the only one who stares at their wood!
