Yup. Cat's run freaking HOT by design but 2100?! That's higher than I thought they could sustain w/o breakdown.

You are correct Bill, Most wash coats don't live long around 2000F, We are purposley degrading these Cat's to look at high temp wash coat adhesion.
More of an issue as they get closer and closer to the engine. Yes, they are active faster but see some serious heat 8" downstream of an exhaust valve :0
I would love to try this technology in my stove, just not thining the smoke will find it's way out of a 1200 cell per 1" brick :)
