stove keeps going out

Ah jeez Dex, let 'er rip and burn some of the tar out baby! A hot stove is a happy stove, I don't think I've ever burned on low, I like that white kiln ash look inside Alright, back on topic. So if the call light ain't on, she ain't calling so the stove would go out. Does the tc override the call light? Meaning would the call light not be lit if the tc was not happy? I don't think so, but just a thought, I liked the tc 'snug the cover' on trick. How are you measuring temps? Dex, if it overfires it is tripping the high temp, right? I honestly think I've only done that a few times, and you know what I've put thru my stove, so I bet that is doubtful. I'm all in that either a) the room temp is not what it seems, or b) the high temp is faulty.

My Ash is white. All heat levels produce the same color in my Quad. No black tar (Sote) here This pic was taken a few days ago.

I still say jumper the stove. This will eliminate any thermostat issues.

Just ribbing ya Dex, nice ash Yep, agreed, jumper. I do get dark ash in the Castile, but only when I'm burning horse chow......

Could it be a snap disk issue?
I have the same stove, new last year, and had roughly the same prohblem. Shop gave me a new disk and as I was putting it in, I noticed that the wires connecting it were not tight against the contacts. 2 minutes with pliers and all the connections were tight and NO more issues. Also now have a spare disk.
Just a thought.

I may have actually had a loose connection to the back of the stove for the stat. I also had spliced and extended the original wiring to put the stat across the room. I am cut the extra wiring and am using the original wiring with no interuptions. Hooked the stat up per the stat instruction manual (red to RH, white to W1). Running on low heat and low fan speed with feed gate all the way open. Flame varies from just under the burn pot lip to over the burn pot. the thermomcouple is positioned currectly and i pushed the wiring in to make sure its touching the front of the thermocouple. That silicon did burn off holding the thermocouple in place. Here are a couple pics.

Thats a Clean Stove

Burned a few bags and haven't even pulled the clean out rod yet

If your gonna have a long t-stat wire run, I would make sure its solid wire and has no splits in it. Just my opinion.

LIke dex said, A full wire run is the ticket. You could solder the connections for the time being, But replace it ASAP.

I tried one more time using the stat before calling the company. The blowers arent working now. The only heat I am getting off the unit is the heat from the actual unit itself. No heat is blowing into the room. I went to company store where I bought the stove after calling them and not getting a call back. I'm going to request a new unit. I paid good money for something to work properly out of the box, not for someone to repair something that was faulty. Reasonable request?

Call the dealer.... Its under warranty. If the blower isn't working. They need to fix it.

Ditto on bum disc. Had same issue on countrysides when I serviced them, usually had some time on them though. Hard to blame company for a bad common part. Good luck

Open the right side doors. There are 2 there. The other (High temp) is near auger, but it will shut entire unit down.

2 yellow and 2 purple wires.

stove just went off now. room temp was 70. stat was set for 85. call light is not on

put fresh batteries in the thermostat!

With the flame as low as I see it in the pictures, it could be that the stove isn't hot enough to close the fan snap disc. I still can't believe you don't have a higher flame with the feed gate all the way open. Have you physically put your hand down there and verified that the gate is open and nothing is blocking it? And nothing is blocking the auger at the top of the chute? When you first plug in the stove, how many times does the blue light flash?

This is what the snap disk looks like. On my CB 1200, the faulty connections were on the one about mid height on the right side (facing the stove).

thanks for all the help. When its out of warranty i'll try and do the repairs myself. I did locate it. The company came out and replaced a snap disc. fan on and pumping heat like it should. Hopefully i'm good now. the test will come when its not 70 degrees in connecticut. geez

I see your air wash is blowing the ash off both sides of the pedestal.

Are you talking about the area in front of the burn pot? The "Sun" I have that sits there, blocks a lot of ash from going in front of it. You can see the before and after, when I moved the "Sun". The after pic, I swept some ash off. In the before pic, the ash is there.

If thats what your talking about? The air wash works pretty good. Except the sides. They get pretty dirty, pretty quick. I only cleaned the glass every 25-30 bags last year. I went as long as possible. Still have yet to touch the Ash dump rod. Every time the stove starts, it cleans out what little ash may remain.
