Burning Hunk
I set the whole bag in the hopper then slice the bottom and lift the bag off the pellets so they don't stir up dust.

I made a wooden chest out of maple it will hold 7 bags use a 3quart feed scoop to fill the stove. This way you don't see pellet bags laying around,I can see what I'm putting in the stove, all the fines fall to the bottom.im not scraping up my finish or melting bags on stove, and the wife can fill it herself this way.works pretty well
It was worth the time makes things pretty easy here can stash about five days of pellets right beside the stove for someone else to fillI like that idea except the prospect of another household construction project.
I have the same feed scoop as you did you get it at tractor supplyMy “stash” is in the garage at basement level.
I bring 4-bags at a time up and dump them into a wooden chest in the same room as the stove.
I then use a feed scoop & plastic bowl to scoop from the chest into the hopper.
I’m in the process of building a pneumatic conveyor system to bring them up from the basement easier.
It’s in the “prototype” stage right now….I will post details here when it is operational.
What he said ........I'm in the "dump bag" segment of the pellet population. I burn way too many pellets to fuss with decanters and ornamental storage containers. It's fuel, not wine, after all.
Probably the most logical and hassle free way to cut down on dust....I set the whole bag in the hopper then slice the bottom and lift the bag off the pellets so they don't stir up dust.
Even when totally empty, my hopper wont take a full bag.Probably the most logical and hassle free way to cut down on dust....
Yes, that is where I got it.I have the same feed scoop as you did you get it at tractor supply
Yup, Keeping it simple because my setup allows me too.open bag, pour into hopper.
lol... same as it ever was17 year old son . . . retrieve bag from shed, dump in hopper, leave empty bag on floor.
