I would find a place, ANY place, for free oak........LOL

I segregate uglies, shorts and cutoffs up off the ground over in my charcoal making area. They make primo hardwood charcoal for the grill.
 
My oak and cherry is stacked on a pallet getting ready for the smoker grill. All the rest goes on another pallet for shoulder season and perking up a fire that only has a few coals left over. Nothing goes to waste.
 
I'll stack my shorties and odd ball pieces at the end of my stacks kinda of building a wall with them. They are usually the first ones I grab for long all night burns I just load the stove up with the different sizes and let her burn.
