Burnagain.............been there and done that. It is a good feeling to have that win win and everyone enjoy it as well. So, what did the wife cook for supper while you two were doing the wood thing
well no cooking, i'd already picked up a pizza. She got our youngest to nap for a while so she finally got to relax. She stays home with them all day everyday and i'm sure she needs a break so I wasn't expecting any favors for taking him out to "help" me. He really is a pretty awesome kid so it was more of a treat for me than anything.
As I split I throw the pieces into my 4'X8' trailer pulled by my Kawasaki 750, Once full my kids stack while I continue to split and toss into my big trailer pulled by my Suburban. Seems to go a lot faster doing it this way.
I usually have a wood splitting party twice each year. I rent a second splitter and my son brings over a few of his buddies. I usually smoke a couple brisket and 8 to 10 slabs of baby back ribs. My son's friends are always asking when the next wood splitting party is going to be... As long as I feed the workers well, they are always eager to come back,...AND I get a lot of work accomplished.
