More 2cent opinion. What diameter and length is your exhaust flue? Did you try running without the OAK? I don't use one because the damper is barely open, so I'm not really taking much air out of the house. Have you tried disconnecting the OAK atttached to the air inlet and running it that way for a while? Maybe your not getting enough air because of the OAK and that's why you have to open the damper. My thoughts, as to why your stove would operate differently than the others of same model, "Air" incoming or outgoing is not operating the same as other Yorks.

20 foot long ICC 4" rigid flue pipe. A 15" long piece of 4" SS flex to connect to the cleanout tee on the back of the stove. I have not tried running it without the OAK. I want to hook up my Dwyer manometer to see what the draft is in the flue and see what the reading is at the inlet damper. I'm not too concerned that my damper needs to be run more open than other York's as long as I know the stove is clean and the combustion is right. I have a few type K thermocouples on order so I'll hook them up so I can monitor what's going on until I get this optimized. Once that is complete, it is what it is.

In ref. to your pot filling at different rates you may take a look and see if there may be casting flashing in the channel where the augar is and where it empties. You will need a flashlight and mirror(s) to do this and the stove would need to be empty in order for you to look. Sometimes flashing is not cleaned off enough where the pellets come out which would leave the pot filling more on one side.

I will check, thanks Bkins.

Ding ding ding.....we have a winner! I picked up 10 bags of Vermonts yesterday and I finally got some decent heat out of the stove. These are burning a ~ 25 deg F higher than the other pellets in my stove. Quite a bit better then the LaCrete's, Black Hills, Cubex, etc. I'm getting 250 - 260 degrees coming out of the stove outlet. It was in the 20's last night and the living room was 71 deg this morning. It was 73 when I went to bed. This was the first full hopper that I burned. I emptied the ash trays last night before loading it up. With the Geneva's and GT the center pan was chock full to the top with ash. I forgot to empty the pan after the Geneva's. The two side pans had a pretty good amount too. The ash on the Vermonts is good so this will be my pellet of choice. I can probably go four bags before I have to empty the pan. Now I need a ton....or two.

Just picked up a ton of Vermonts from the gentleman on Craigslist selling them for $230/T. I would've picked up a second ton at that price but someone beat me to them. Very nice gent who is moving south and didn't need them. Props to Hoot23 on this site for posting a link to the CL listing. I would've missed it if he didn't post the link. Power is out here so I'm not burning the pellet stove as all I have is a cheap power strip. My Intermatic whole house surge suppressor isn't here yet. Should be here next week.
