Finally getting a start on spring splitting. This was what remains after last weekend's all day split-a-thon. 2 cords have already been moved out to friends and neighbors that helped out. About 4-5 more cords to split. Mostly fir and some hemlock. The stacked pile is locust. Those big rounds of doug fir are really a bear. Some from near the base of the tree weigh in at over 500# and are ~48"+ across. Those rounds are still not checking after 6 months. The biggest ones may wait until next year.
